GPS Accuracy & Tips

Phone GPS is typically 5–10 m in open sky; cities or trees can cause 20 m+ errors. Click Edit locations to move and reorient photos without popup interference.

Tips for better accuracy:

  • Wait for a good GPS fix before shooting (open Maps to check)
  • Shoot in open sky, away from tall buildings and dense trees
  • Keep location services enabled for the camera app
  • Hold the phone steady for a moment to let GPS settle
  • Avoid shooting from inside vehicles or through windows
  • Ensure date & time are set correctly on the device
  • Use original photos (JPEG) when possible; PNG conversion can alter GPS metadata
